Who we are
A roofing contractor, not a sales funnel
Green Coast Builders is a licensed California roofing contractor doing residential and commercial work across Kern County and the greater Los Angeles area — repairs and leak diagnosis, full reroofs, tile underlayment replacement, inspections, gutters, and certified silicone restoration on commercial flat and low-slope roofs. Roofing is close to all of what we do, not a sideline next to something else.
We are family-owned, and small enough that the name on the estimate is the name you keep talking to. Brandon handles the meetings, the sales, and the project management — he is the one who comes out to look at your roof, and the one running the job once it starts. If rot turns up under the tile that nobody could see from the driveway, you are not filing a ticket with a call center; you are talking to the person who quoted it. Green Coast Builders was established in 2019. We would rather say that plainly than dress it up.

Roof repair & leaks
Leak diagnosis and repair on tile, shingle, flat, and metal roofs. We find the actual source, not just the stain. The estimate is free, and if a repair is genuinely the right call instead of a bigger job, that is what we quote.

Full tear-off and replacement, plus tile lift-and-relay when the tile is sound but the underlayment is finished. On tile roofs we relay the original tile over new underlayment instead of automatically selling a full teardown.

Written inspection reports and roof certifications — useful for a sale, for your own records, or for your insurer. Residential inspections start at $495, commercial at $595 — published pricing, not a number you find out after we show up.
Inspections →Silicone roof coating
Certified Progressive Materials restoration systems for flat and low-slope commercial roofs. No tear-off, manufacturer warranty. We publish the actual film thickness behind it — 25 dry mils on the 5-year system, 30 dry mils on the 10-year system.
Roof coatings →Gutters
Gutter installation, replacement, and repair — sized and pitched for the roof they are actually draining. Seamless systems only, cut to length on site rather than pieced together from stock lengths.

Scheduled maintenance that catches small problems while they are still small. It is mainly a commercial program — flat roofs benefit the most from catching a blocked drain or a lifted seam before it becomes a leak.

Two license classifications, not one
We hold C-39 and B— Roofing and General Building. Most roofing companies carry only the C-39. Holding B as well means the work directly around a roof does not automatically need a second contractor.
Published coating thickness
25 dry mils backs the 5-year silicone system.
30 dry mils backs the 10-year silicone system.
No competitor we have found in this market publishes a mil thickness at all.

Certified applicator for Progressive Materials silicone roof coatings. Only Certified Licensed Applicators can issue Progressive Materials manufacturer warranties.

Commercial & industrial
Silicone restoration instead of a tear-off
If you own or manage a warehouse, retail center, or industrial building with a flat or low-slope roof, a full tear-off is not always the answer. A silicone restoration system can seal and renew a roof that still has structure left in it — without the cost, the debris, or the tenant disruption.
We are a Progressive Materials Certified Licensed Applicator, which means we can issue the manufacturer's warranty directly. Not every roofer can.

What areas do you serve?
We are based in Kern County and cover it directly — Bakersfield, the Kern River Valley, Kernville, and Ridgecrest. Most of our residential work outside Kern happens in the San Gabriel Valley and the greater Los Angeles area, and our commercial work reaches into the 60 corridor and the Inland Empire. Do you charge for an estimate?
An estimate for a repair, reroof, or coating job is free — we come look at the roof and give you a price in writing, no obligation. A formal written inspection report or roof certification is a separate, paid service, and we publish those starting prices rather than making you ask: residential inspections start at $495, commercial start at $595. What the roof work itself costs depends on size, pitch, materials, and what we find once we are on the roof, so we do not publish flat prices for repairs and reroofs — but the number is always in writing before anything starts.
What warranty do you offer?
5–10 years on labor and workmanship, on top of the manufacturer warranty on materials (Manufacturer's warranty on shingles, including lifetime options). On silicone restoration work we are a Progressive Materials Certified Licensed Applicator, so we can issue that manufacturer warranty directly — a contractor who is not certified can apply the same material but cannot back it with the manufacturer's paper.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes. California contractor license #1052777, held under both C-39 (Roofing) and B (General Building) classifications — most roofing companies carry only the C-39. Licensed, bonded, and insured, and you can verify all of it yourself at cslb.ca.gov.
What do you not do?
We do not handle insurance claims or act as a public adjuster, we do not do storm-restoration door-knocking, we do not take on fire rebuild work, and we do not install solar. We will work around an existing solar array and tell you the right sequence if a reroof and a solar install both need to happen, but we do not put panels on.
I already have a bid from another contractor. Will you match it?
Yes, on a like-for-like scope. Bring us a written bid from another licensed contractor for the same work — same materials named by product, same flashing scope, same warranty — and we will match it. We will also walk through a competitor's bid with you line by line, whether or not you end up hiring us.
